History of the Tactical Alpine Group
Airborne=TAG= - 14.01.2008 00:47
The Tactical Alpine Group (=TAG=) started as an International gaming squad for the Novalogic series of games Delta Force. Estimating around mid 1997 the squad was formed under the leadership of Crap=TAG= and Hitman=TAG= to play Delta Force 1. The squad was a driving force in the game and was responsible for numerous squads that formed afterwards and helped shape the format of competition still used today.
=TAG= played DF1 for a couple of years, bypassing the release of DF2 because of numerous flaws that they identified in the game. A new dawn arose with the release of Delta Force: Land Warrior in 2000 and the squad took to it in force. One of the strongest squads in the game initially, =TAG= was feared by many and revered by even more. As with anything, there were high points and low points. After dominating for so long, the squad started having numerous personnel changes, to include the succession of command to Cadmus=TAG=. Around March 2001 the oldest current serving member and current Commander Airborne=TAG=, a green sniper with little other skills, was recruited into the squad.
As time passed and the release date of a new game approaching, Airborne, then assigned as the Recruiting Officer, stumbled upon 2 knuckleheads in a squad that =TAG= just got done destroying. Machetti=TAG= and Deltasquad=TAG= was recruited into the squad just in time to start the new game of Task Force Dagger, an attempted improvement on the highly successful DFLW. =TAG= as usual played and beat some of the top squads in the game and continued to see success after again succeeding command to Toby=TAG= around early 2002. =TAG= continued to game with the best, seeing some come and go, and picking up a squeaky-voiced college kid that went by the name 82ndRanger.
A truly new game was coming, and in early 2003 came Delta Force: Black Hawk Down. Some in the squad were very hesitant about making such a radical switch, and the squad saw its numbers dwindle a bit. The remaining members took to the game full speed ahead, learning the ins and outs and picking up new members along the way. Before long the squad was once again dominating again, seeing the induction of numerous members from other squads that lay victim to a =TAG= may lay. Mangler, an older fellow with great skills and Vapor, a quiet guy with a loud machine gun joined the ranks of =TAG= around the same time of the last succession of command to Airborne=TAG= in mid 2003. The year of 2004 saw some dark times and very good times within the squad. One of those for mentioned good times was the finding of then a pimple faced high school student by the name of PrimoPyro=TAG=, now serving as Executive Officer.
Early 2005 saw the reformation of the squad into mainly what you see today; a loosely organized squad that games primarily for the enjoyment, and not so much interested in the strict structure that tears a lot of squads apart. Coming to the squad in no certain order in 2005 was Snakehead=TAG=, a kick ass player with a great sense of humor. Heretic=TAG=, a certifiable genius with great teamwork abilities. Payback=TAG=, a dumb redneck that could own anyone in the game on any given day. Eternal=TAG=, a quiet professional with great all round skills. Toxic=TAG=, a great machine gunner and resident gearhead. Logic=TAG=, the all round great player that ultimately proves that you can and most of the time will get your ass kicked by a girl. And of course no one can forget Predator=TAG= even how hard they try (joking), primarily because if you played Razorball at least once in your life you smashed your keyboard cussing his name. Razor=TAG= showed how perfection can be gained in a game with his knifing skills.
With flops upon flops of games coming out from Novalogic, =TAG= made the tough decision to move away from the Delta Force series of games and try its hand at the supremely popular game of Battlefield 2. This game was very graphic intensive compared to Novalogic’s previous releases, and required a lot of people to upgrade their systems. With some members, this was just not an option and stayed with what they could play. As the squad got more immersed into BF2, again as always it started playing competitively and dominating within the gaming community. One day while owning as normal, along came another Mizzou boy by the name of KC_Pig=TAG=. After taking our time to use him as our squad “whipping boy” for a month or so, he was inducted into the squad.
The new dawn of gaming brings us to the challenge of Call of Duty 4: Modern Combat. =TAG= is currently working hard to once again be the driving force within the entire gaming community. Additions of new members include Oz=TAG=, an unbelievable Razorball player that is constantly improving in COD4. Ripper, Iguana, Bones, Spaniard, and Tony-M are working on getting up with us to COD4 but are still representing the squad greatly with BHD Razorball.
As time goes the faces within the squad has changed. Some come, some go, but the ideals of the Tactical Alpine Group have stood the test of time. Gaming with dignity and respect toward others has always been a focal point of the squad. Standing tall against using unfair advantages has and will remain our strict policy. Everyone that has worn =TAG= after their name, past and present, know that they are part of something bigger than themselves, and honor the right to do so.

The above is the best recalled information that is currently available about the history of the Tactical Alpine Group. We encourage anyone with more information to please help us improve upon this document. Besides previous Commanders, former members of the squad that have moved on were purposely omitted from this historical document. This was not intended to offend or downplay any and all efforts that they put forth on behalf of the squad. Names within this history only document currently serving members within =TAG=.
